10 Best Local Trip Destinations for Students

They say travel can be a good teacher. Beyond the metropolis are countless destinations that offer students opportunities to validate theories in class, ingest social realities, and even discover what they really want in life.

Here are the top 10 places which students can visit this summer:

Ilocos Norte

The destination is the perfect place to try out the extremes, from the La Paz Sand Dunes to Kapurpurawan Rock Formation. It’s also a good place to learn renewable energy production as the province is utilizing wind energy sources such as the Bangui Wind Farm.

Sagada, Mt. Province

The Cordillera culture is an interesting feel for young learners. Sagada offers wild spelunking in its numerous caves and a glimpse of the unique hanging burial practice of the people.

Notice that the designs of Manila and of Baguio are somehow similar. This is because they were made by the famous Architect Daniel Burnham. Take a walk in the city and notice how they are further alike.

Anawangin Cove, San Antonio, Zambales.

The area is a popular destination for campers. It offers a scenic stretch of beach and forest wonders that students will appreciate.

Taal, Batangas

Taal is a well-preserved colonial town where each house bears a part of Philippine history.

Puerto Galera

Behind the popularity of this beach destination is a story of how tourism has greatly affected the local community particularly the indigenous people like the Mangyans of Mindoro.

Quezon Province

Its May festival offers one of the best Tagalog cultural experiences. Be sure to check out the colorful Pahiyas Festival of Lucban, competitive Hagisan ng Suman of Tayabas, and the Agawan Festival of Sariaya.

The region is home to natural wonders such as the symmetrical Mt. Mayon, Caramoan in Camarines Sur, and the whale sharks of Donsol, Sorsogon.

Puerto Princesa Underground River

Recently declared as an official world wonder, the underground river is a must-see attraction for students who want to witness one of God’s best creations.

Take a food tour in the metropolis and expose yourself to the rich history and culture of the Cebuanos.
