Resources for more learning this summer

The Annual WebCT User Conference in San Francisco calls for submissions such as the following: Easing the Transition from WebCT Campus Edition to WebCT Vista Through Communication, Respondus and StudyMate: Creating WebCT Quizzes, Activities, and Games
and SafariU: Build the Textbook You Really Want—Fast.

All the links here are the abstracts of the said submissions, but they do give great ideas regarding the possibilities of Information and Communication Technology.

For example, when it comes to guiding and driving student success, here are some ideas on how to support and retain learners: Simulation and Advanced Gaming Environments (SAGE) for Learning,
Using Group Dynamics to Enhance Learning Success and What Students Want: Descriptions of Quality in Online Learning.

For the teacher, there are also possible professional development models and methods, such as Creating the Faculty Toolbelt, Design Before You Develop: Creating an Effective Course Map, and Using WebCT as a Follow-Up Tool.

All help add the “A” in Tech (TEACH) as another submission conceptualizes.

What do these have to do with the summer, you may ask? Well, for the well-informed high school student interested in Information and Communication Technology, anything is possible. He or she can take reviews for aptitude exams, can make review literature, or even create computer programs, all with the help of online resources used for reviewing lessons of long ago.
