How to put math on the web

People use math on the web for interactive distance learning, publishing research articles, posting quizzes and answers for students, web applications, and online content in a more accessible format.

Here are some more ways on how to maximize content online, especially when it comes to Math:

  • MathPage - The most common challenge when it comes to online math is actually producing web and paper versions of the same document. MathPage lets you convert Microsoft Word documents into web pages easily. Mathematical symbols and equations are handled properly, and can be viewed in any browser.
  • MathType - Distributing paper documents on the Web has the advantage of a wide reach over a short period of time. But you have to watch out for those that need special formatting. MathType is easy to use, can be previewed online, and easily printable.
  • MathPlayer - is the add-on that is best for displaying math notation. It also has seamless web integration, and only requires standard scripting. Interactivity, graphic design and multimedia are important online, and there will always be the appeal of engaging students in more exciting web pages. Interactive math projects usually need more flexible and powerful servers, as well as more programming expertise.
  • MathFlow Components - give developers with editing and display options to create math-enabled web applications.

To give you some idea as to how math is made available online, here are several sites that can act as a math resource in your classes:
