SSP Website of the Month (February 2010): Dagupan City National High School
Community Choice Awardee: Basilan National High School
Envisioning itself as “a leader in providing quality secondary education to the Filipino Youth sustained through a nurturing technological environment and professionally competent and up-to-date personnel,” the Dagupan City National High School (DCNHS) is now more equipped to provide information and resources to its students, teachers, and stakeholders through its official website, the Smart Schools Program Website of the Month (February).
Hosted by the Smart Schools Program, the DCNHS website contains information about the school, its academic programs, student activities, and alumni projects. The site layout is well organized and the design shows proper use of colors, images, and Flash objects. The site is maintained by teachers and students of DCNHS, led by Michael Angelo Gatchalian and Jerome Marquez.
The SSP “Website of the Month” Competition is SSP website’s rewards and recognition program for the SSP-hosted websites. Nominated websites are evaluated based on the content, website design, involvement of teachers and students, and website maintenance.
A “Community Choice Award” is also given to the nominee with the most number of votes earned in the Smart Schools Online Poll. For February 2010, the Basilan National High School website topped the online poll conducted from January 25 to February 26, 2010. Other nominated websites for February were: City of Balanga NHS, Dagupan City NHS, Liloy NHS, MSU-CETD, Zamboanga del Norte NHS.
