NOCNHS thanks SSP

The Smart Schools Program (SSP) contributes greatly to New Ormoc City National High School’s (NOCNHS) success in providing quality education to the youth. Through SSP, teachers and students of NOCNHS are now equipped with information and communication technology (ICT) tools for teaching and learning.

SSP has provided our school access to the Internet and online educational resources. Our teachers are now able to get more information and innovative lesson plans and use these materials to enrich our learning experience. Instead of using the traditional chalk-and-board method, our teachers are now incorporating ICT tools in their teaching strategies.  They no longer have to spend so much time preparing visual aids – instructional materials such as charts, pictures, and worksheets are just a click away! Our classes also became more exciting because our teachers now use audio and video clips which they have downloaded from the Internet.

Our world as a student is no longer confined to the four walls of our classroom. We can now apply what we learn from school to our daily lives. Through the Internet, we acquire new skills and we get more news and information about our country and other nations. The Internet is also a very powerful medium where we can express our opinions and share resources. We also get to know and understand other cultures and visit places without the need to travel or spend a lot of money.

NOCNHS is now empowered, thanks to ICT and SSP. SSP has truly helped NOCNHS in honing the skills and knowledge of teachers and students and preparing them for the 21st century. Thanks SSP!
