A noble role
By Princess Juneire M. Peligro
“You’ll only understand how hard it is to be a mother when you become one.” This is what my mom always tells me and you probably hear it from your mothers too. I paid little attention to my mother’s words when I was little but as I got older, I began to understand what my she meant. Being a mother is indeed a tough and noble role.
My mom has a long list of rules for me to follow, which I found annoying when I was younger. Many times I felt she didn’t trust me but now I realized that these rules are for my own good and that my mom just wants the best life for me. I also understand now that when she tells me off, she doesn’t hate me. On the contrary, it is her way of guiding me to the right path because she loves me dearly. She cares about my future and my happiness.
Once, I made my mom cry. I was irresponsible and I disappointed her with my actions. I felt bad that I upset her. Despite my wrongs, she was very forgiving and loving. This made me realize how much she cares for me. Since then, I tried my best to listen to her and avoid doing things that can hurt her.
Being a mother is a lifetime commitment and vocation. I salute my mom, Mrs. Ma. Norma Peligro, for loving me unconditionally. She seems to never get tired of supporting me, helping me rise every time I fall. She accepts my whole being and loves me no matter what.
You are great, mom! I will not be where I am today if not for your guidance, support, trust, and love. I truly admire you and I wish to be like you someday. Thank you for everything.
