Smart partners with alumni.net for Smart Schools Program partners

Smart Schools Program

Posted on Monday, October 03, 2011

In line with promoting “Internet for All”, Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) recently partnered with Tao Solutions, Inc. to encourage Smart Schools Program Partners to avail of the services of alumni.net, a global alumni registry that aims to connect people and communities through their schools.

Under the partnership, Smart shall encourage all Smart Schools Program partner schools to use alumni.net. Should the school decide to use alumni.net, the school must then designate a group administrator for their alumni.net group.

Through the group administrator, the school can add, edit, and delete members, group information, related links, school logo, subgroups and photos. They are also to encourage students, faculty, non-teaching staff and alumni to sign up in the site (www.alumni.net), send Tao a copy of at least one alumni print publication that mentions alumni.net and link alumni.net on the front page of the school’s alumni page or official website.

Tao is responsible for developing and maintaining the functionality of the alumni.net site. Tao will also provide group administrator ability to schools who sign up for them to be able to send a message to every member of the alumni group. Tao will also provide the school with the subdomain which will point directly to the school’s alumni registry page on alumni.net.

The partnership seeks to further strengthen ties between the school and their alumni.

Representatives of Tao will be contacting Smart Schools Program partner schools directly for more information. Membership to alumni.net for Smart Schools Program partners is discretionary and non-mandatory.
