Plot your schools on the map and get a chance to win cool prizes from Smart!

Smart Communications, Inc. recently partnered with InterAksyon.com, the online news portal of TV5, for a geotagging project for Smart Schools Program and Doon Po Sa Amin. We are currently on the initial stage of the project and we want to invite all our SSP partners and online associates to plot their schools on the map, and at the same time, assess the usability of the Smart-InterAksyon site.

Once registered, we will email all participants with username and password to access the Smart-InterAksyon site and add their school profile on the map.

  • “Earth Hour Digital Poster Making Contest” Winners

Last month, we challenged our SSP partners and online associates to express and share their feelings towards a major event for our Mother Earth – the Earth Hour – through art.

With “I Will If You Will” theme in mind, they submitted digital posters which were masterfully done. We are proud to present the two winners for the said contest:

    Jasper Jay C. Tuso
4th Year, Bayugan National Comprehensive High School

“My poster showcases the real scenario of our planet Earth: carrying the burdens which mankind had bought. Too much use of electricity (e.g, using appliances) made our planet to suffer the consequences, not knowing that, time will come that our planet cannot sustain the excessive use of electricity any more, as like as, time will come that there will be no more source of electricity.

“On the other hand, we can make a difference. The two hands represent YOU and ME. I will dare to conserve electricity in my on ways, IF you will also dare to save our Earth. Without any of the hand, we cannot HELP our planet CARRY the burdens we made, for YOU and ME should be always together and united, always dares to keep our promise on helping our planet Earth.”

    Alexis Isabella Gabrielle C. Durog
2nd Year, New Ormoc City National High School

“First, you can observe blue, red and a little splash of yellow color in the background which represents the flag of my motherland, Philippines. Second, the Earth is being enclosed by 8 hands shaped like a heart which represents that we (not just in my own country but the rest of the world) need to work hand in hand in order to achieve "Love for Nature" in each one of us. With that we can encourage more of mankind to plant trees and work hard to make our surroundings clean that is why I placed a tree at the center.

“Lastly, I placed a light bulb and switch below it to let other people know that through switching off our lights and electricity during Earth Hour can be just a little way to help achieve that goal to disseminate knowledge across the world and to create a clean and green Mother Earth.”

Both winners will receive tshirt from Smart and a special edition dugong plush toy. Congratulations!
