The “SSP Website of the Month” Competition is the Smart Schools Program (SSP) website’s rewards and recognition program for the SSP-hosted websites.

The competition is open to all SSP partner high schools with official school website hosted by SSP. The school website must be owned, developed, and maintained by the school.

Suggested Elements of the School Website

• Must feature the school (philosophy, history, etc.), and school events, activities, achievements, and other features
• Must have link to Smart Schools Program website
• Must show involvement of teachers and students in maintaining the website (web team, activities, etc.)

Criteria for Evaluation

The nominated school websites will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

Content - 30%
        - Content must be relevant and appealing to the school, teachers, students, and the community

Website Design - 15%
        - Usability, organization, color, typography, layout, aesthetics of the website design.

• Involvement of Teachers and Students - 30%
        - School must have a website team composed of teachers and students
        - Must show a documentation (photos, schedules, tasks, etc.) of the team’s collaboration
        - Documentation of collaboration can be shown in the school website through the feature stories or bulletin

• Website Maintenance - 25%
        - Pages of the school website must show updated content
        - Links in the pages must be live and working

Awards and Prizes

• Every month, there will be nominated school websites which will be featured in the SSP website

• Qualification for nomination:
        - Website is completely set up (as of monthly cut-off)
        - No “under construction” pages

• Website uploaded in the middle of the month will be nominated on the succeeding month

• One website will be awarded “SSP Website of the Month” and one special award, the “Community Choice Award,” will be given to the nominated website with the most number of votes earned via the Smart Schools online poll.

• Winning website and its web team will be featured in the SSP website.

• The winning school will receive 30 points for the upcoming “School Mo Panalo” Points and Rewards System.
