A Teacher Worth Praising

Nathaniel Cabahug Noya
4th HS Student, New Ormoc City National High School

Countless teachers and advisers of our school can be classified as good and well-respected teachers. With all the brilliant teachers I have met before, there is one who really stood out and changed my outlook in life. She changed my bad personalities into better ones. I, including my classmates, would have been hopeless if did not come into our lives.

She is Mrs. Ruvanesa O. Villamor, our former third year class adviser and teacher. When we were still juniors, we used to chit chat, shout and make loud noises non-stop. We least cared of what our classroom looks like to the eyes of others. Even if we got negative comments and feedback from other teachers, we still continued what we always do carelessly.

Our antics would not have been stopped until our adviser, Mrs. Villamor, told us something that hit us. “Disobeying the class rules results in getting very low grades in my handled subject,” she shockingly said to us. At that point in our lives, we entirely realized our mistakes. Mrs. Villamor strenuously explained to us about having the enough strength to change and to be more obedient to the authority. She told us that being a student of the Science and Technology Class requires great responsibility.

Since that time, she used her greatest feat in making and doing disciplinary actions to her students. She challenges us with her unsuspecting teachings since then. Her actions were very effective in molding us into better citizens. She always gets mad when everything is not in good place. She acts what is wholly important for her students. I thank her for bringing us to the right path.

I am very proud that I have been a part in her teaching life. She is indeed a teacher and a hero. I will always remember her as a superhero that once saved me from hopelessness before. Truly, she is a teacher worth praising!
